Does this week seem different to you that it feels like Twitler is finally going down?

I remember the summer of 1974 when Nixon resigned. This week for the first time I am beginning to believe Twitler is either going to be removed, resign or our government will collapse under the GOP. The bombshells are hitting fast this week.

It's now become public that Trump knew about Putin's election interference two weeks before the inauguration, which puts his vehement denials about it -- and actions to subvert any investigations -- in a much different light. Big time obstruction of justice, to say the least. Media outlets, government officials, and ex-military and intelligence officers are liberally using the word "treason". And we have to remember: everything that we have just found out, Mueller knew long ago. His report will be the final nail, so to speak.

I do think that the end is nigh for Trump and his cronies. Have faith that our institutions are stronger than this tyrant.

As long as his party continues to sit back and let him run roughshod over our country and its constitution, nothing will happen. The only way this shitbag will go down is if his own body finally revolts, or if one of the rubes they convinced to arm themselves to the teeth realizes how fucked over they are, and acts on it.

this time. He stood on the world stage shoulder to shoulder with the world's enemy and sided with him against his own country. Further, the response since, including the nonsense about McPhaul, sealed his fate. Most Republicans who are not Trump Cultists have mostly concluded "his actions make no sense; something must be up or he's completely incompetent". The people behind the scenes have decided he can't be President anymore - this has been obvious since yesterday and now person after person are saying he can't be trusted anymore. Look for further indictments next week. This is wrapping up.

But I do believe it will happen eventually. But I do see this week as a turning point, because from this point on, Trumpanzees are always going to be playing defense. And it's only going to get harder for them as time goes on. And eventually, we will get into the end zone.

And daytime cnn and msnbc are more critical than usual. Plus you are starting to hear people being concerned about him embarrassing the US on NATO and horrified by his appearance on Helsinki.

Hubby works with a Twitler supporter who now says he doesn’t want to talk about Twitler anymore. This guy was a big cheerleader and is slowly beginning to crack as the realization he did collide with His puppet master Putin.

there was nothing about this meeting that wasn't widely out there two years ago, really.

hillary called him a russian puppet in the debates, and his response was a panicky, projecting "no puppet! no puppet! you're the puppet!", which should have been taken as a giant red flag as something an innocent person would never, ever say.

really the only difference was a bit of body language and tone. but substantively, no real news.

The lines are being drawn harder and sharper, with white-nationalist-types threatening violence against Democrats, Jews, people of color, etc.

One can feel the tension building, everywhere. My neighborhood message board -- which is for "neighbor-things," like lost pets, or handyman referrals and the like. Last night it boiled over with the customary ignition supplied by a Trumpist ranting about "build the wall." A shit-storm ensued between NEIGHBORS.

I am very concerned that a horrible incident (or more) is making its way toward reality. The serious Trump-backers are fucking INSANE and cannot be reasoned with. Take that and factor in their obsession with firearms, and you've got a highly volatile mix.

I'm not a sky-is-falling type, but things are looking very grim for any resolution. And leadership? REAL leadership? It doesn't exist, the country has been allowed to slip off its moorings and is adrift.

Then also there is the problem of Pence taking over as POTUS.

Pence may be more "effective" and would have more support by the worst of the evangelicals.

Nixon caught me by surprise. Not sure if the USA as a nation is capable of what happened with Watergate and the subsequent resignation by Nixon. Today's GOP is more interested in gaining and retaining power than good governing or improving the lives of a majority of Americans.

This week DID feel like a crescendo of activity and negative energy occurred, with multiple, outrageous, nightmarish, sh*itstorm stories, each competing in horribleness, all swirling in close succession (Helsinki, Butina, the NY Times story confirming Trump knew all along, McFaul, and on and on). But the bottomline is when you wake up each morning from the 24/7 Trump nightmare, he's still in power. Complicit Republicans still putting Party over Country.

Big picture overwhelms day to day trivia. This week has been a tease to the gullible day-to-day types because virtually every day has contained something extra outrageous, even by Trump standards.

This is still an incumbent who will seek re-election in 2020 and have an excellent chance.

If you visit the places where right wingers post they aren't bothered at all. The oft repeated theme is something like this, "When will the left learn that we don't care what Trump says? We care what he does."
