I have lived in Missouri for 50 years. I have lived with the rednecks and racists for years. I have never been afraid of them until now.

I am pretty careful about what I say when I am round People I don't know. I didn't use to worry about that. It wasn't dangerous to say what I thought. Now it is.

I didn't use to worry about being out in public places. I think about it now. I don't go out much any more.

I have to drive a lot. Now I am constantly aware. I want no part of any kind of road rage incident.

I am really careful what information is out on my phone. I never text anything that isn't just business stuff or friendly conversation. I almost never email anyone anymore.

I never dreamed things would turn like this.

I really believe that it's a culture war that has little to do with actual governance. It's an "us against them" situation. The far right wants to go back in time and we want to be in the here and now with an eye to the future. I don't know if the two sides can ever come to an agreement, which worries me. What would happen if Trump is impeached? Would the right wing yahoos choose violence against the government and us? I think Trump has to go, but it would be best if he's forced to "resign".
