Be smart: This poll foreshadows the coming national drama. Every piece of data, and virtually every public action of elected Republican officials, shows Trump will have overwhelming and probably unbreakable party support, regardless of what Robert Mueller finds with his Russia probe.

(31,261 posts)What we need to avoid doing again is tearing our own side apart. When we look past our small differences to vote and vote United, we are unstoppable.
Once our primaries are over, the winner need to be gracious and the loser(s) need to immediately get behind the winner and not do things like not help or imply that the outcome was rigged against them.

Nate Silver took this point on this morning. I'd ask we edit subject lines to reflect, rather than promote this propaganda.

(58,724 posts)The Vox folks are just expressing some surprise/dismay that the R number is what it is.
It definitely tells you something that the vast majority of R respondents thought Trump did well at the summit.
The headline emphasizes the part of the poll that is disturbing - namely that Republicans are good with Trump no matter what he says or does.

(58,724 posts)The fact that there is literally nothing that Trump can do that would get Republicans to turn on him makes me sick to my stomach.
I am glad that their numbers are small - but how messed up is it that they are still standing with him even after Helsinki in such high percentages?
Doesn't that make you sick also?
