https://edition.cnn.com/2018/07/19/uk/novichok-poisoning-suspects-identified-intl/index.htmlLondon (CNN)Police have identified two suspects in the poisoning of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN Thursday.
The pair left the UK in the wake of the attack on what is believed to have been a commercial flight, the source added.
Their departure was revealed in a coded Russian message to Moscow sent after the attack, which was intercepted by a British base in Cyprus, the source said. The British government blames the Skripals' poisoning on Russia.
The suspects were identified by UK police, who have been combing through months of surveillance camera footage from UK airports and from Salisbury, the town where the Skripals were poisoned on March 4.

(6,324 posts)2. That's the kind of boring police work that takes forever but eventually gets you a lead
Look at every minute of footage from every camera you know about near the scene, then go look and knock on doors and talk to people, find more cameras you didnt know about, go farther out on your permitter and as as a result find more cameras and since they are farther out you need to review a wider time frame.
Take copious notes of everything even what doesnt seem to matter- every car model and color, every persons dress, etc.
Start comparing notes until something clicks on and you see something that lets you narrow down.
On TV the whiz kid at the computer narrows in on it in a few minutes. In real life you spend days and weeks starting at screens looking for that one split second that connects two dots.
