I'm worrying about what trump* might do, while he still can.
If he thinks his current status is going to be officially threatened, he might just pull out all of the stops while he still can. And it doesn't matter if it is something he can't legally do, on his own. He can likely feel very confident that the majority party is not going to lift a finger to stop him. And I'm terrified he might be right.

(15,099 posts)He actually thinks that would be a good strategy going into the midterms.
And hasn't it been turbulent enough?
I worked a lot of it out of my system at the gym this morning!

(6,137 posts)it is obvious he is determined to stay in power at all costs and it seems that even US Intel had underestimated his craziness. My hope is that people in the government, military, etc. will refuse any outrageous orders he (putin) may come up with.
I dont see any way he can get impeached without dems having house majority and senate supermajority. I beleive simple senate majority is not sufficient to convict. Even if we do start moving on the impeachement process, 2020 will likely come sooner than the outcome of impeachment proceedings. Whats more, I am afraid Mueller or mcconnel or ryan are goong to postpone any potential russian probe hearings until after the november elections.
Helsinki had near zero impact on trump supporters and the media will likely move on to the next breaking news next week unless Mueller keeps bringing goodies to keep media busy.
