Received a handwritten note thanking me for my small donation. It was a nice touch, but I wonder how much monet and time are spent sending them out. How do you feel when you receive one?

(3,619 posts)I would prefer the candidate wouldn't waste his/her money on the note. I'm fine without the thank-you note, but maybe that's just me.

What I do appreciate is a note from the candidate of campaigns I have worked on after the election. Those are cherished.

(15,696 posts)The person in charge of the autopen does them for the candidate. There are usually levels of signature: full formal name; first and last name; first name or nickname. I was in charge of Senator Kerry's autopen during the presidential campaign before I was accepted into the research and analysis division. It was fun.
