No Longer a Russiagate Skeptic

July 20, 2018 at 7:46 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Blake Hounshell: “When I wrote, back in February, that I was skeptical that President Donald Trump would ever be proved to have secretly colluded with Russia to sway the 2016 election in his favor, I mistyped.”

“What I meant to write was that I wasn’t skeptical.”

”Last week’s events have nullified my previous skepticism… With every other world leader, the physically imposing Trump attempts to dominate—witness his alpha-male handshakes with French President Emanuel Macron or his flamboyant man-spreading next to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Yet with the diminutive Putin—who is maybe 5 feet, 6 inches tall—he’s oddly submissive. During the public portion of their encounter, Trump was slumping in his chair, as if defeated. Why? Why did he insist on a one-on-one meeting with Putin in the first place?”

It was also stunning to watch the Putin stare down straight into the scumbag's eyes.
Watch the entire press conference and look at Putin's legs.
He has something big on Don the fucking Con.

After putin got him into office, so anything putin wants , he gets now from trump. Like this new announcement of another meeting, I think this was putins idea , not trumps, to use to pr promotion for putin , and promote him as a fine guy so he can get trump and the republicans to lift sanctions for him, and after he probably gave trump assurances he would again rig this next election in Nov. for them to remain in power. putin and trump are very, very corrupt people.

I’m now believing that Trump and his campaign knew going into the election that it had been rigged in his favor. That’s why he made so many trips to Michigan, so it would just look like he paid attention to them and Hillary didn’t (certainly some truth there) and he started talking about a rigged election weeks before November. I also now believe that there was a carefully orchestrated campaign immediately after the election to “leak” to the media that Trump and everyone in his campaign was surprised by the win and that Melania even cried. I remember a few stories about how Trump had never expected to win but throught it would give his business a boost. Stories like that boosted the idea that the election was not rigged because everyone was so surprised that Trump won. They knew they were going to win because the fix was in. What we still don’t know is whether any Republican leaders knew about the fix (McConnell?). I wonder because most of the Republican candidates were milquetoast, and I think all would have lost to Hillary. She would have made mincemeat of most of them in debates, except perhaps Ted Cruz, and he was so unlikable that he probably would not have won either. So it was in Republican Party interests for Trump to be the candidate. Aren’t conjectures fun! And how the hell do we prevent tampering with this Fall’s election?
