So, the ridiculous Republican talking point that Trump has been tougher on Putin and Russia than Obama is easily exposed. But they're still repeating it. It's right out of Orwell, 2+2=5.
So I've been debating some Trumpsters and wanted more ammo on pro Putin actions by Trump, this is the list I have so far. Any more to add to this list?
Obama:
-With Hillary killed the Putin-Exon(Tillerson) $500 Billion Oil Deal
-Obama signs Magnitsky Act exposing and punishing Russian corruption
-Obama helped get Russia kicked out of the G8
-Obama imposed actual "real" sanctions against the Russian government
etc. etc.
Trump:
-Named Rex Tillerson his first SoS whose first order of business was to try (unsuccessfully) to revive the $500 Billion Putn oil deal
-Lobbied for Russia to rejoin the G8
-Exempted Russia and only Russia from the North Korea shipping embargo giving them a monopoly on shipping the NK.
-Inexplicably refused to acknowledge Russia meddled in the election in his favor, to this day hasn't been clear or offered a strong rebuke.
-Trashed NATO exactly how Putin would want.
-Steel tariffs were structured in a way that benefited Russia greatly.
-Purged State Department of nearly all experienced Russia experts.
-Changed 1 and only 1 thing in the GOP platform at the RNC, changed the party's position on aiding Ukraine, specifically removed the party's pledge to provide military support to the opposition.
-Said the US government is just as bad as Russia when it comes to murder.
-Named Putin buddy and business associate, Wilbur Ross, as Commerce Secretary.
-Trump's campaign chairman was essentially on Putin's payroll at the same time he was running the Trump campaign for President.
-Trump imposed sanctions against individual Russians and companies that no longer existed instead of the Russian government.
-Trump booted 60 Russian diplomats, but that amounted to a shift change as he allowed 60 to replace them immediately.
-Held summit with Putin where Trump threw our country at the "strong and powerful" Putin's feet and humiliated our entire intelligence apparatus.
-Invited Putin to the White House even in the face of all the proven attacks by Putin on the US.
-etc. etc etc ad infinium.

(18,745 posts)Was hoping to add to it. Nearly every decision Trump makes benefits Russia somehow.

(4,459 posts)... and NATO firmly. His admin consistently voiced opposition to Russia over Crimea and Ukraine. He also kicked Russians out of the country over the cyber attack. (Although on the latter point I kind of wish hed waited until Meuller had a chance to round some of them up).

(18,745 posts)Everything Trump does benefits Russian businesses. Its uncanny, but its obvious Trump thinks about helping Russia first whenever he makes a decision.
