Maria Butina is now in the US. He writes to me that D. Trump (a member of the NRA) is really for his cooperation with Russia.its like a sentimental scrapbook of espionage

They want to brag about what they are doing to the US.
It's why Rykov confessed to running the disinfo campaign for Trump. It's why Rykov admitted that Russian intelligence was meeting with Carter Page and why he even tagged Michael McFaul into the post.
Unless you are like Butina and actually in the US and subject to arrest, there are no consequences in Russia for messing with us. None. Putin's obviously not going to send you over for prosecution, nor would he have any interest in doing that.
