Why the September deadline for Mueller?

I’ve heard a lot of talking heads lately say (as if it were set in stone) that Mueller must issue his final report before September or hold off until after the midterms.
They say this like they know that Mueller thinks this way.
Where do they come up with that?

4. Some have actually used Comey as their example

Saying Mueller wouldn’t want to release it so close to the midterms like Comey did to Hillary.
They have no idea if Mueller thinks that way.
Isn’t it his job to release his findings when he is ready to, no matter what the calendar says?

If our elections or Trump himself have been compromised by Russia, we have every right to know regardless of the calendar.

3. It's an unwritten policy of not releasing anything within 60 days

of an election. Pretty sure it’s just an offshoot of the Hatch Act, but the timing of 60 days is the part that isn’t written in stone anywhere. It was one of many reasons why Comey took so many hits by stating anything within 2 weeks of the 2016 election.

5. In general, the FBI does a lot of work that can have unintended political consequences.

Things that are out of the FBI's hands after reports are issued.

They have a history of not doing certain things at certain times. It's just one of the reasons Comey is such a fuckwad. He broke historical protocol and assisted in the promotion of a Republican narrative just days before an election.

They also have a responsibility to act if current damage is being done by criminal elements that would have a large impact. That is one of the reasons I son't see any really hefty allegations about direct collusion with Trump. Mueller is much further along in this than many think. We are seeing that from so many news articles with breaking info just to find out Mueller had the info months ago.

8. Trump is currently and actively running for President.

We also have no clue who is running that might be involved. I believe multiple American citizens have been mentioned in indictments. Their positions are not mentioned, for the most part. Just about anything released at this point is going to damage a whole political party for a short period of time. That in itself requires thought from Mueller. This report is going to impact people who have nothing to do with anything.

It's not like justice just stops for everybody just because there's an election. But is there anybody running for office whose election (or not ) may be directly affected by the investigation. As in ,are they under investigation? Nunes perhaps?

Justice is often delayed for many reasons, good and bad.

Still, seems that all of this is nothing more than rampant speculation by people paid to rampantly speculate.

Does have a nice ring to it depending on your situation.

Prosecutors often request delays. Defendants often request delays. Defendants and prosecutors sometimes request delays together. Judges grant them and even on occasion request them.

For good and bad reasons.

They are pulling a bait & switch with the 60 days thing. Unless someone under investigation is actually running for office, it is legally irrelevant.
