(5,227 posts)When will the world listen to Bernie's ideas? He always has a solution to our world problems, doesn't he? Guess he's too busy giving speeches about his ideas than actually being in DC to effectuate them

Perhaps you could post the suggestion for fixing the electoral system, while unhinging Trump-the-unhingable
Good luck with that!

(11,936 posts)Sanders resolution states that the U.S. Senate:
Accepts the assessment of the United States intelligence community with regard to interference by the Russian Federation in elections in the United States and in other democracies;
Must move aggressively to protect our election systems from interference by Russia or any foreign power, and work closely with our democratic partners around the world to do the same;
Demands that the sanctions against Russia that were passed last year be fully implemented by the president;
Will not accept any interference with the ongoing investigation of Special Counsel Mueller, such as the offer of preemptive pardons or the firing of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and that the president must cooperate with this investigation; and
Declares that the President must cooperate with the investigation of Special Counsel Mueller.

Are you fucking kidding me?
The sanctions he voted NO on?
This is why I can't stand Bernie.
phleshdef
(11,936 posts)He voted no on the final bill because it included more sanctions on Iran. But I imagine you already knew that.

(5,801 posts)He also voted against the Magnitsky Act.
Sorry, I am not buying the waving hand screaming in your face crap from him on this issue.
I do, however, appreciate his efforts to enforce them now.
phleshdef
(11,936 posts)I really can't blame him for trying to preserve the Iran deal.

(6,288 posts)Are you fking kidding me, TOO?

NO VOTE ON MAGNITSKY SANCTIONS, BERNIE!??
NO VOTE ON MAGNITSKY SANCTIONS, BERNIE!??
NO VOTE ON MAGNITSKY SANCTIONS, BERNIE!??
NO VOTE ON MAGNITSKY SANCTIONS, BERNIE!??
DID YOU HEAR ME BERNIE SANDERS!!!
WTF, NOW HE CALLS FOR FKING SANCTIONS?
AND WE'RE SPOSE TO TAKE HIM SERIOUS, THIS TIME!!
Go back to your Senate seat and work with the Democratic Party. Stop Talking. Stop Campaigning for a moment
Really, this big "plan" is nothing that hasn't been suggested many times before.

(11,936 posts)Typing the same thing 5 times in all caps does absolutely nothing to enhance the point you are attempting to make either.
Also, your final statements are funny considering this is an actual resolution he is using his Senate seat to present and has nothing to do with any campaign.
You're just complaining about it because its Bernie. If it were any other member of the Dem caucus doing the same exact thing, you'd have fuck all to criticize about it. You know I'm right.

(6,288 posts)Go back to your Senate seat and work with the Democratic Party,.. ya know,.. what you should have done when the previous SANCTIONS BILL WAS BEFORE YOU.
YOU VOTED NO WITH RAND FKING PAUL!
What was that NO VOTE really for Bernie Sanders!?
WHAT?
NOW YOU CALL FOR SANCTIONS JUST SO THE FEATHER IN THE CAP BELONGS TO YOU???!!
Stop Talking. Stop Campaigning for a moment.
Really, this big "plan" is nothing that hasn't been suggested many times before.
He repeats & stamps his name on other's work.
Bla bla bla bla .."WE NEED SANCTIONS!"
WHERE WERE YOU BERNIE SANDERS WHEN THE MAGNITSKY VOTE WAS BEFORE YOU?
WHO DID YOU VOTE WITH THEN???!!
Figures that Commondreams would source this.

(11,936 posts)Sanders voted FOR the stand alone Russian sanctions bill. This is irrefutable.
He voted against the final bill because it included more Iran sanctions attached to it. This is also irrefutable.
So he isn't just NOW calling for sanctions against Russia. He has supported the Russian sanctions all along. I personally would've voted for the final bill if it were me. But I can't fault him for wanting to protect the Iran nuclear agreement.
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)It didn't protect IRAN, but its an excuse some will buy so go for it.
The hypocrisy is neck deep with this call for "SANCTIONS, WE NEED MORE SANCTIONS"!!!
Maybe Rand knows why Bernie voted against Magnitsky.
Maybe Tad knows?

(5,272 posts)here and yet people don't care. If they have a problem with the refutation, they could at least reference it and where it fails in their eyes when they regurgitate the same "fact" over and over. Instead its starting from scratch every time.

(65,021 posts)When the bill was ONLY about sanctions on Russia, he voted for it. When the revisions came in and they included sanctions on Iran, which was not part of the original conversation, he voted no because they tried to slip in things that had nothing to do with Russia.
