This isn't making sense - Who leaked the Cohen/Trump tape?

Rachel thinks Trump leaked the tape. That doesn’t make sense to me except to change the news cycle.

One possibility she raised besides a distraction is that this takes away the possibility of Cohen using it as a bargaining chip with prosecutors to cut a deal with them.

So prosecutors weren't given that recording.

And it still wouldn't be a bargaining chip for Cohen because he wouldn't be able to release it on his own.

If he wants to save his hide and cut a deal with prosecutors, it has to be something they don't have. I would think that it may be the case since as you say, he was trump's fixer fot a long time.

15. Cohen did. He had it, it was "privileged" info.

It's a bargaining chip. I'm pretty sure he doesn't much care about his law license at this point so maintaining confidentiality is not a concern. Is he fishing for a pardon? Looking for a sweeter deal from prosecutors? Apparently there are plenty more where that came from.

If I were him I'd go for a deal--I'm sure he knows better than anyone that his former boss can't be trusted.
