I still can't get past the mocking of the disabled reporter.

As bad as so many other things are that he’s done and said, this really revealed who he is as a disgusting human being. I could have NEVER voted for anyone who did this.
At the time, I was sure this would end his candidacy.

When do I get to say I told you so to all of the people that voted for him.

I have never asked them about this particular episode.
All I ever got from them as a reason for voting for him was that they hated Hillary, they are Republicans, and that he was a good businessman who would cut their taxes.
I haven’t spoken politics with them since.

I keep thinking to myself, "How can any decent human being possibly support this disgusting excuse of a human being"? That was only one sick incident of hundreds or thousands. There was also the "grabbing by the pussy incident", stalking Hillary at the podium, saying that there were people at fault on "both sides", not condemning racists and white terrorists, standing with the NRA no matter what, throwing Starburst candies at Angela Merkel, dissing Angela Merkel, dissing Macron and Trudeau and other world leadiers, pushing aside the President of Montenegro, kissing the asses of dictators, kissing the asses of Putin and Kim, his daily stupidity and cruelty, the way he treats immigrants, veterans, women, children... I could go on forever.

The man is the most evil, disgusting piece of shit on the planet. I hate him more every single day. I just live to read about his obituary.

And be so willing to either hang back and ignore the entire scenario, or worse, openly support the most vile, unqualified, profane, cruel and pathologically narcissistic person to ever hold the American presidency.

Personally, this remains the *hardest* aspect of 45’s “reign” to grasp: it makes NO sense whatsoever for so many people to turn a blind (or admiring) eye to this continuous train-wreck.

Americans once had functioning bullshit dectectors that could perceive and reject such an egregious attack on our institutions. But no more. It’s just insane.

Sat Jul 21, 2018, 12:05 AM
Jul 2018

Could attack another person so cruelly and in front of an audience and it just solidified for me how much I loathed and despised him. Little did I know at the time that my loathing would actually increase. I honestly thought it could not get worse but I was wrong.

So I was thinking about this because he did this during the campaign. It was one of many ugly and revolting things he did during those months. Reflecting back, I realize now that he was testing his audience. Testing to see what they would allow. Testing to see if they would forgive and forget. Testing to see if he could gaslight them by DENYING that he did what they saw him do with their own eyes. And by god, it worked. He found out he could drop his pants, Moon the audience and they’d just laugh it off and later on allow him to deny it or have an acceptable excuse for his naughty behavior— locker room behavior. No wonder he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose any voters. He really believes he is above the law.

But the steady drip, drip, drip will wear away at some of his base. Yes, some will hang in until the bitter end and go right over the cliff with him. I feel no sympathy for them, either. They really are the deplorables. But some of them will wake up one day and recognize the deception. Some of them will learn of the massive fraud pulled off and some might even be ashamed that they voted for him or even went to his rallies. I am pretty sure Hitler had folks who swallowed his hatred until they woke up one day and realized they had been duped, to their ever lasting shame. I am hopeful that the tRumpers will have their wake up moment before too much longer. If they don’t, I am not sure the country can survive much more of his dirty tricks and devious mind games.

There were plenty of other things he did which people also should not have been able to accept. Calling for violence against protestors and reporters and others at his nazi campaign rallys, which is illegal, calling Mexicans and others rapists and criminals, saying he would pay the legal fees of people who attacked others at his rallys, calling for the jailing of his opponent and so much more. Behaving like a fascist and unstable person, being a crook and a wannabe mobster/ dictator, scapegoating minorities and so on should not be acceptable ever.

granddaughter (my daughter), who is quadriplegic with a speech disability as a result of cerebral palsy... and it made her sick to her stomach. He was a HORRIBLE person... and she would NEVER vote for him... and he would NEVER become the nominee... and then she and my equally white trash sister actually attended the inauguration. My deplorable-- and proud of it!--sister even posted on FB about how the fake news media were lying about the crowd size. My mom and sister are white nationalist, confederacy loving (the South shall rise again!), xenophobic, misogynist idiots who get their marching orders from Hannity, Limbaugh, etc.. (Although to be fair, my sister and her ignoramus of a husband jumped in the clown car early on, when it all still seemed like a joke.)

My mom also has a longtime, undocumented handyman from El Salvador, and she always told me how honest, hardworking and talented he is. In fact, the handyman's whole family has worked for my mom... and she has even talked to his wife about being her caregiver if/when the time comes... so she knows full well the overwhelming majority of immigrants from El Salvador are not MS 13. She also has very kind, Muslim neighbors from Yemen that she is hoping to sell her big house to when she downsizes. And she knows goddamn well that Obama was born in Hawaii. But she has no principles, no core values that she will defend against this evil bullshit. It's all about the Republican Party winning and the "Democrat Party" losing.

My daughter was also honored as a "Point of Light" (2nd place in the Bay Area for that year)... and that creep in the White House recently managed to trash Bush senior for that, too! (Cuz why in god's name would anyone but a loser put effort into anything that didn't personally benefit them?) So repulsive and repugnant... and where was ANY defense of those honored, like my daughter? Certainly nothing from my sister or mom... even though my mom and dad traveled to the Bay Area to see my daughter receive the award. At this point, I consider all Republicans to be despicable weasels (at best). My sister is pretty much dead to me (after she trashed the "snowflakes" at Berkeley-- my school and my daughter's!) and posted other crap on FB. I was always out of step with my family-- morally, politically, intellectually, culturally, etc..-- and now, they really do not seem worth the time or energy.

just stopped me in my tracks. It was as if someone plunged a knife through my heart. I have lived in NYC my entire adult life (I'm pushing 70) and have been local witness to and familiar with Trump and his Family, long before he came upon the national and international stage. There's an entire, decades-long smorgasbord of corruption, slime and evil emanating from that man, but the disabled reporter incident was the most telling of all for me. My father, like Trump, was also a narcissist, who mocked and body-shamed me as a child and I'm perhaps extra sensitive to that sort of pain. Nonetheless, this was the most acute proof of Trump's pure evil, inhumanity and complete unsuitability for any political position.

Sure, there was always the racism, the bigotry, and the misogyny. But that's standard equipment for republicans. Rump takes "disgusting" to glorious new levels of subhuman behavior.
