Flower Carpet: an ephemeral show in the heart of my "Hellhole". It is organized each 2 years.
Each edition illustrates a different theme (the commemoration of major events, a country, a continent, the coat of arms of a city, etc.). This year on August, 16, the Carpet Flower will be devoted to a Mexican region, Guanajuato. it is a coincidence, but boy ! I love it !

A wink to our American friends
21 July is also about folklore, we "honored" Trump with a parade as he likes them so much :
Sometimes, Satan hides in details (wrong depiction of the flag)

(2,716 posts)We took our American flag down after the surrender of Helsinki. We bought flags of all our allies and fly them whenever they get insulted by Trump. We just hoisted the Belgian flag for the day in honor of their celebration.

I don't think you are less civilized. The US is like 50 countries reunited. It can't be ruled as a small country with little population.
But there are fields that need to be seriously improved : education and healthcare. Even if each state has its own rules, these 2 fields should only be under federal jurisdiction.
