Republicans key vehicles. We (generally) don't.

Yeah, I know that's a vast generalization. And there probably are Democrats who are stupid/vicious/Republican-like enough to key someone's car.

But here's my point.

This morning, I was driving behind a fairly new Toyota SUV, (perhaps a 2016 or 2017 model), and the owner had turned his/her car into a sewer by putting a "Make America Great Again" sticker on the rear bumper.

Evidently, she/he has been driving around with that bumper sticker for a year or two with no problem (as far as I know).

However, even though Palm Beach County is a relatively "liberal" area of Florida, many people who had Hilary bumper stickers, back when, got keyed. And one person whom I know of, had a car window broken.

So what's my point? Are Democrats more civilized than Republicans? Are we, as a segment of society, more intelligent? Are we less inclined to violence?

I don't know the answer to any of these questions. But I do know that this morning, I saw someone driving around, proudly displaying their stupid, and evidently, not caring what anyone thought about it. And evidently, unworried about being called out by some crazy.

There are many assumptions above. However, I, for one, can say that I didn't put a Hilary or Bernie sticker on my car, since it was a virtual certainty that I would have had to pay for some minor damage.

Soooo, from personal observation, I've reached the questionable conclusion that Democrats are less violent and more civilized than Republicans. But I could be totally wrong about that. Who knows?

Even in the 60’s he used to say this. Once I put a sticker on my first car in 1974 and he made me scrape iit off. You’re only asking for trouble. And yes you are correct though, it seems only repukes key cars on Democratic stickers.

Hard to describe, it was along the lines of a sunrise over the glove, with red lines for sun rays, best as I remember.

One of those without his name on it.
Couple years into Obama's 2nd term, a Fox fan/redneck was doing some work in the yard, and asked me about the sticker, said he liked it and wanted to get one.
I just told him I had no idea where he could find one around here ( true) but did not bother to point out what it meant.

6. No bumper stickers for me

Same reason.

I generally can't bring myself to destroy property, no matter how strong my animosity. Oh, I'll admit I've done a couple of things in my life. I remember each one, and can count them on one hand, and don't feel good about them. Most only harmed my own self, but there was an instance decades ago toward someone else.

I lived in a townhouse apartment with adjoining small parking lot with assigned spaces. At one point I had neighbors who would park their car in my spot just about every damned day. So I'd come home from work exhausted and have to go knock on their door and ask them to move their car. One day when I asked the wife to please move their car, she replied, "I don't know that we're in your spot." I told her the numbers were clearly on the parking spots and she actually had to go look. Then the very next day they were in my spot again. Somehow their antenna got broken that day.

To strive for better communities, a better nation, and a better world.

The Republicans' sole aim is to stir the shitpot, and exploit the anger and resentment of whatever disgusting, coprophagic vermin slither out of it.

Perhaps they know that we won't (physically) attack them (or their property).

Perhaps they see, what we call strength, as weakness.

Perhaps they see themselves as "ubermenschen" and see us as "wimps."

Perhaps they believe that we will lay down and let them do whatever they want to do.

Perhaps they have no clue of the "wimps" called "The Greatest Generation", who had had enough, defeated worldwide fascism, and established western democracy.

Obviously we don't need to key vehicles or commit acts of violence, but we do need to match followers of Republicanism in confrontation and aggression. Our problem is we don't like doing that, and that might be why we aren't good at it. Our "word swords" are rusty. We break every rule in the book. We lead with our chin; we don't win the fight before fighting; we don't arrange the venue; we follow rules that aren't rules...

The same with political yard signs. It is very rare for a liberal to steal or deface a republican sign. Dems don't shoot the windows of republican campaign offices either or make death threats to people they disagree with.

Democrats definitely are more civilized and sane. We might be tempted to do something violent or reactionary, but our brains get in the way of our emotions.

won't lead us into servitude.

Hopefully, our votes will bury them this November.

And hopefully, if they somehow steal it again, our civilized and sane mindsets will react with sanity in defense of civilization.

A true patriot respects others rights, even if they do not agree.

Political positions will eventually stand or fall on their own merit.

In the meantime, go ahead and put your stickers on. Park in well lit areas with security cameras.

Also, the media has hyped the misconception of both-sides-do-it, like both sides "misbehave" to the same degree. No, it's not even close, but we'll never see Steve Kornacki take on that set of stats, huh?

I posted one of those liberal posters about snowflakes & social justice & winter is coming on my FB page, & my rwnj cousin shared it on his page, made nasty comments about the "lying & violent left" & some of his friends piled on. My guess is some shock jock has told them that 'winter is coming' is secret code from the shadow government to the left. They are the ones that are armed to the max & terrified to step outside their houses without their precious guns. We want decent gun control laws & regulations, but we're the violent ones. You can't even talk to these people.

After reading the threads here it occurred to me that Republicons have some realization that Democrats don't use violent or damaging acts to send send any message to the other side and it is really frustrating for them.

This is why they set up "false flag" attacks rather frequently. Remember the woman who scratched her face with a mirror image B and claimed it was an Obama supporter? From my recollection there are other happenings of damage to Repub campaign offices that were actually done by Repugs. They are trying to compensate in some sick way for their violence by generating "false equivalences" of sorts..
