Just received a message on my answering machine claiming to be from microsoft.

It was a computor generated voice that said that my windows had been compromised by several foreign countries and my license would be revoked if I did not contact them and change my key. I did not contact them but thought I would let all of you know.

I didn't even answer. Sent them straight to voicemail.

And then...when I checked the voicemail, it was saying something about me being "reported to the local cops."

I highly doubt the IRS would call law enforcement "the local cops."

That's becoming more common in my area, where we have a large population of people of Chinese descent, as well as recent immigrants. I get messages in Chinese on my answering device once a week or so - I assume that's what it is.

I've had the same message on my voicemail.

Do not call them back.

Same goes for the IRS call.

Couldn't tell but then I'm not great at such things and who cares anyway. Kept him on the phone about 10 minutes jacking with him. He said he was located in Arizona with the fraud division of Microsoft. I couldn't help myself I laughed a little at that. Then I held the phone a little at from myself and said loud enough for him to hear, "Is that long enough Agent Smiley? Do you have him located yet?".
