I have a good friend who’s really overwhelmed and depressed right now. She needs to see this. Thanks for posting!

I also learned as I researched that she lived to be 108 years old, and was an all-around fascinating woman and lifelong activist.

I bet she’d be proud of her students this year, especially.

I’m trying to keep track of David Hogg, Emma Gonzales, and Cameron Kasky. If one (or all) of them decides to run for office, I’m sending campaign donations!

I watched a clip of her at a meeting. She was always impeccably dressed, hat, gloves, etc.
She got up to speak and the boos began. She just waited and looked at them.
After they calmed down enough for her to be heard, she said, “Boo louder!”

I don't know whether Mrs. Douglas was active in the political arena, but it doesn't matter. She provided leadership and excellence in her own field, and that's what we all need to do.
