CHECK. YOUR. VOTER. REGISTRATION.

July 21, Daily Kos poster: 'Between partisan thumbs on scales, Fancy Bears and Murphy’s unsleeping Law, mysterious disappearances from the voting rolls should not be a surprise this year...'

Had a nice evening with neighbor pals last night. We enjoyed a leisurely rush hour drive out Airline to the most old school, tacky, tasty normal Chinese restaurant left in America and had a happy evening of moo shus and kung paos.

On the way home, Neighbor A relayed an strange tale. Recently, she’d seen a “make sure you’re registered to vote” post and, on a lark, went to the Secretary of State’s voter portal and found she wasn’t registered.

This is very odd. While our state’s Republican controllers will often try postcard purges, there has been none of late. A is hardly an “inactive” voter. Like most of us, she regularly schleps to the polls for every little judgeship and charter change.

She. Just. Disappeared.

Whether her removal from the rolls was the result of a nefarious scheme or a computer hiccup, it has been remedied, but it should serve as a warning to all:
* CHECK. YOUR. REGISTRATION. Use your state’s database, or HeadCount, or RockTheVote (Note: some commenters have found Rock the Vote to be inaccurate.), or USAGov, or NASS or any reputable restistration-check site. Do it soon and often, and encourage friends, family and co-workers to check up as well.

I went into our state site since I just last week received my voter card and it was correct and my state site is correct. Hmmmmm.

I am sure it is OK since the site for Kansas Voter Registration even tells me what door of the church to go in. The site you provided had all correct but the town. Odd, all addresses were OK and the zips but the city was wrong. Hmmm. Our early voting just started so I can easily slip over and check it out there.

We haven't seen the full impact of the Russians getting into the voter roles. I suspected that it would be easy to knock a few thousand voter off and fix an election. Even if someone complains and demands to vote. They're given a provisional ballot and those are rarey counted.

If you check online, print it off and take it with you.

IMHO.

I was disappeared from the rolls in a place that I have voted for 25 years. No reason. I had my registration card from the county election office with me to prove I was registered. (and I had my ID) The poll worker hemmed and hawed for 15 minutes, and made 2 phone calls before she finally let me vote. This was the primary in 2016. I voted early in the general, and got an evil eye from the poll worker, but I was in the system.

I guess I should say all good, at this time. I'll be checking on it periodically between now and November. My region is super red, and I'd not put it above the local powers that be to suddenly "find a problem" with my registration.

Funny, I don't remember feeling this paranoid in the past. Mostly just since Vlad's BFF took over the White House, and now the masks are off over in the "red" party.
