'Family Guy' to mock Trump and 'fake news' in upcoming episode
Family Guy is taking on President Trump and his use of the phrase fake news during its upcoming season. The animated Fox show will depict fictional main character Peter Griffin becoming Trumps new communications director after the president discovers he is an expert seller of "fake news," Entertainment Weekly reported Saturday.
The cartoon family moves to Washington, D.C., for the new gig at the White House and Peters daughter Meg has an unpleasant encounter with a fictionalized Trump, according to EW's preview. The episode will also include an epic battle between "Trump" and "Peter" as their relationship worsens.
The show has gone after the Trump administration before, mocking White House Kellyanne Conway in an Emmy Award advertisement last year. Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane is also a frequent critic of the president.
McFarlane battled with Fox News host Tucker Carlson last month over the networks coverage of Trump. He ended up donating $2.5 million to NPR in response to Carlsons comments about dishonesty in the media.
