when Mueller's guys raid the offices at NRA headquarters and take all their files and computers. The gunners will lose their fucking minds.

I really think the Russians were laundering campaign donations through the NRA.

1. normally i'd be cautious about such speculation, but this gang is so ridiculously obvious

things like...

allowing foreign contributions
shutting the transparency regulations
blowing away the record for contributions to inaugural fund
... while spending far *less* on the inauguration....
all with so many contacts with russians...
otherwise inexplicably in attendance at the inauguration....

4. Agree. Even though the Pubs made foreign donations legal

through PACs serving various Pubs, corruption and arrogance are so rampant that I will be surprised if the NRA isn't involved in, for instance, the money laundering the oligarchs need so badly.

5. And that would just highlight

that when they made such donations illegal, they most likely already had a work-around for it. A work-around that would not be available to Democrats.

6. Democrats made foreign donations directly to candidates

and campaigns illegal. Republicans created a workaround for this by making unlimited foreign donations legal to the PACs that pretend to not be associated with the politicians they serve.

Besides whatever other workarounds they've developed, so far it's clear Democrats in general have chosen that these donations NOT be available to them. Fingers crossed for what investigation turns up, for our conservative blue dogs especially. It seems that none of them have AS irredeemably betrayed their constituents as their Republican colleagues have, but of course 50-60% going along with the Republicans is not 98% refusing to go along.

7. Hypothetically, if the Democrats wanted to do the same,

they could have laundered money through Planned Parenthood, and it would not be available to republicans. No republican or republican PAC dare be caught taking money from PP.

Not sayin the Democrats did that, of course.

8. Good point. And now Repubs have been caught

taking money from Russia. Try to obfuscate and deny as they will, they're in bad trouble. Adam Schiff said some months ago that people on that side were basically in shock. At being forced to face just how extremely corrupt they'd become as a group and wondering how their victorious good days were crashing in destruction.
