He called him the weakest Speaker in history.
Paul Ryan could remove Devin Nunes from the Committee and work to get the truth about Russia, by supporting Robert Mueller's investigation until it is ended.
Schmidt was begging for him to show a little courage. He said he could do it in the next five minutes if he wanted.
I think Schmidt should be the Speaker...

(112,920 posts)Ryan knows damn well how guilty he is and the entire party.
The empressof all
(29,098 posts)Paul Ryan and the party of Trump could give two flips about what Steve Schmidt thinks. They don't even care about what they think among themselves. How many times have we been told how they are alarmed about and hate Trumps behavior. They are all complicit at this time and useless. To expect the Vichy Congress to do something is unrealistic. They all have gone full bore Weasel.

(267,838 posts)Paul Ryan told them to keep it secret. Backbone? They are all part of the conspiracy and coverup.

(5,210 posts)Relax. Had you going, didn't I? I'm kidding, of course. He's a REPUBLICAN.
But he's a Republican with guts, spine and most wonderfully resplendent of all -- integrity. Vision too.
I love to hear him talk about history, as well. He's clearly one of my favorite Republicans. (There are about 5, maybe.)

(40,153 posts)He tweeted a month or so ago that he changed his registration and is no longer a republican.

(4,223 posts)This trash brought us Palin, so he is a useful tool, at best.

(10,260 posts)And he's at least trying to make amends. In the current moment I'll take all the American Allies I can get.
But that doesn't mean he's absolved himself of his sins (yet...but ill give him credit where it's due...Nichole Wallace was also a part of bringing us to where we are, and as far as I know, she still considers herself a Republican)

(4,223 posts)He gets kept at a healthy distance and on a leash. I'm willing to give him a scratch when he's good. lol

(40,153 posts)I think it is unfortunate that people continue to attack him. I have never believed that every republican is an evil person. And he admits that the Palin thing was a big mistake.

(4,223 posts)I'm not forgiving him. He can atone for a LOOOOONNNNGGG time for his sins.

(40,153 posts)a useful tool.
That sounds like an attack to me.

(4,223 posts)I meant an attack as not useful to saving the country. He IS useful. That's exactly how far I'm willing to trust him. Cheers.

(10,260 posts)At this point, I consider him an 'Eisenhower' Republican, with not a racist bone in his body. We could use more of them for sure, but until he's willing to raise taxes on Charles and David because he's smart enough to know it's what's good for the economy, I'd be voting for his opponent in any general election.

(9,999 posts)It's Trump and his enablers that he hates. I applaud him for that but he is still a conservative.

(5,210 posts)But he's still got very conservative leanings and I'm still kidding.
But there ARE those other things about him that I truly love and appreciate.
