(1,990 posts)He used to be mayor here in Somerville MA, and City Hall is a short distance up the hill from my house. I think he is doing a fine job. I read all of his email newsletters, and I have yet to find anything he writes that I disagree with. He has also been helpful in getting the subway extension through town. There will be a new subway station a few yards from my house.

(58,785 posts)We moved to the country for good reasons, but as I get older a subway station a stroll away sounds really nice also.
I've always felt people who've proven competence and good service in office should be rewarded when possible. No one has a right to elective office, of course. They always owe their constituents everything; but if for no other reason, valuing competence and rewarding good service tends to lead to more of the same.
An article asks "Michael Capuano and Ayanna Pressley: Whats the difference?," and six months in, she says, she's still asked why people should vote for her. They're both Democratic progressives. The article says perhaps the sharpest difference is that she supports abolishing ICE, while he says changing immigration policies is more important.
