(34,174 posts)I think if Traitor Tot is not indicted, he'll pardon everybody. If he & family are indicted, whomever is the GOP Enabler-in-Chief---most likely Pence--will pardon all of them. I don't dare hope that Trump AND Pence will be impeached, the Democrats take the House in 2019, making Nancy Pelosi POTUS. That would be too much justice. The world is still too fucked up and corrupt for that to be allowed to happen.

(54,057 posts)He's too stupid to know how it works, and if he learned, he put enough layers between those who did it for him, he will not be connected.
In the end, it won't help him, though. I think he owes Putin too much money to walk away from that one, and I think Putin's justice will be somewhat more harsh than ours.
ALWAYS.

(9,065 posts)except that tRump is much more of a criminal going back many years:
http://watergate.info/analysis/casualties-and-convictions
The final toll included:
one presidential resignation
one vice-presidential resignation although Agnews crimes were unrelated to Watergate
40 government officials indicted or jailed
H.R. Haldeman and John Erlichman (White House staff), resigned 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed
John Dean (White House legal counsel), sacked 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed
John Mitchell, Attorney-General and Chairman of the Committee to Re-elect the President (CREEP), jailed
Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy (ex-White House staff), planned the Watergate break-in, both jailed
Charles Colson, special counsel to the President, jailed
James McCord (Security Director of CREEP), jailed
I suspect that a bunch of tRump's staff and likely family will go to jail or provide plea bargains. It could result in the dismantling of tRump's entire estate.
Lock them up!

Don Jr. will avoid prison unless nailed by NYS.

(15,246 posts)have already pleaded guilty and are likely to do at least some prison time depending on their level of cooperation. Flynn and Papadopolous' plea deal says anywhere from 0-6 months. Given that both men had their sentencing hearings postponed a few times, I'd guess their prison time will be on the low end, but not 0, of their plea agreement.
VanDerZwaan, the Dutch lawyer, just finished his 30 day jail stint, iirc.
I don't see how Manafort avoids jail. He couldn't even behave enough to stay out of jail before his trial.
I expect Stone, Parscale, Page, Don Jr, Kushner to be indicted when Mueller names the Americans involved.
I think Cohen will be indicted, but will have reached a plea deal in conjunction with the indictment ala Papadopolous. I'm surprised it's taken this long, but maybe the special master being inserted into the seized material review process has slowed things down.
