(58,724 posts)Seems like there are more important things to discuss and analyze then reading the transcript of the Manafort case where not much of anything happened.

(29,647 posts)Sorry, cant explain it any better.......were reading stuff shes saying from court filings. Sorry I cant explain it any better.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,674 posts)I bet a lot of people wouldn't. She's making sure we know what was in those transcripts that nobody would be reading otherwise because people have the attention spans of gerbils.

(115,674 posts)Nobody else does that. I love it because she does a better job of explaining complex situations than anyone else because she takes the time to do it. Everybody else goes for five-minute, superficial stories that don't explain how the story came about, maybe because TV and the internet has given people short attention spans. I'd be even happier if she could spend her whole hour on a single complicated story.

(89,247 posts)there is more to it. the porn star thing wasn't just about whether he had sex but about pay offs which is also something we see in other areas of his business.

(9,413 posts)Everything everytime has to be agreeable to everyone. C'mon people, this is the current generations version of Walter Cronkite we are talking about here. She explains the minutiae of the story.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,674 posts)She explains things that need explaining. People should be able to pay attention to a single story for a lousy 20 minutes.

can get kinda wonky. Small price to pay for all of the information and perspective she provides...

(7,574 posts)Rachel explains a great deal of substance in each story she reports... ..w/o the substance, which most of us would neve research on our own let alone understand, she gives a clear whole picture of the current news.

(5,223 posts)but we've been so indoctrinated into swiftly, changing and rapid stuff about rTump on a daily basis, perhaps it's us who have changed and demand constant updating? It's become the new normal.

Raine

(90,762 posts)and you realize, at least I do, that you needed the process.
She brings people along in her own way and the info you carry away stays with you.
That's a good thing - even when it gets annoying.
If any of that makes sense.
