The GOP POTUS would be a renegade extremist court that would just negate the Constitution. Under strict constructionist rules domestic programs would disappear, labor laws would likely be gone and much of the federal government would be gone. The ultimate goal of the GOP is to turn over most the federal government over to the states except national defense and homeland security. Posse Comitatus would be history as well and the military would be allowed to assume police duties.
There would very little funding for most of what we have now. Social Security gone, Medicare gone, Medicaid gone, environmental laws gone, labor laws gone, Fair Labor Standards act gone, unions gone, Voting Rights Act gone, Civil Rights Act gone, et al.
The Reagan "devolution" model under states' rights is still alive. That model is the GOP model for small federal government. Ultimately what I have just said is the dream of ultra conservatives and libertarians.
I know that what I am saying sounds extreme. However the latest POTUS nominee has said that the President is above the law or any restraint even if operating illegally like we know Trump is every day.

(16,485 posts)This country goes back to the days before the American Revolution? The Genie has been out of the bottle for 250 years. There is no going back. What we will have is 50 separate countries with laws different from one another. With no additional revenues from Taxes, most states will fail to run the basic services of government. Not a good thought.
