Just saw Danny O'Connor on Hardball. Does he have a shot?

I looked at recent polling and he looks to be down close to double digits. Chris was touting him as a contender. I’m trying to figure out which candidates that I should support.

I've heard this same theme before with new Dem candidates. They use the same language about "need new leadership" when asked if they'll vote for Pelosi and hedge on impeachment. Presumably the DNC and DCCC are ok with it for the reasons given above.

He is running in a very red district, but is a good democrat for that type of district. He is a government official in the district.

The last guy, quit on Jan 2018, Tiberi held the seat for 17 yrs, before that it was John Kasich. It has been ruby for 30ish yrs. It was designed for Tiberi in 2010, b/c he was tight w/John Boehner, former Speaker. The CD runs from some parts of Columbus, to past Zanesville into Appalachia & into the very $ areas north of Columbus.

O'Connor is running 1st for the special election on August 7, & will again in the midterms in November. He seems politically to be a match for that area. I lived in this district till 04 & knew it well. O'Connor is a play it close to the vest guy.

I heard the local NPR politics radio discussion this am about the district & the early Dem turnout is very heavy.
It will be very tight in August & November.

Too close to call. O'Connor is leading in early voting based on partisan turnout. DCCC just jumped in and Republicans are running scared. I gave $$$ and will soon do GOTV. If you're going to help, do it fast. The election is Aug. 7.
