(90,740 posts)If those who can deploy are held back for rear detachment then there are less soldiers that can deploy - making it harder for those who do actually deploy.
That means fewer able-bodied soldiers in a war zone.
Rear Detachment is necessary. Even the most sorry of them - and I had a sorry, lazy Rear Detachment to contend with - is necessary.
Those with medical conditions are usually placed into other units (other than combat) - administrative, etc. - anyway - meaning they don't deploy as they help keep a post running during times of heavy deployment and otherwise.
Ignorance and bigotry aside, it's a stupid move.
Counting the ignorance and bigotry - it's a senseless and cruel move.
