The White House Transcript Is Missing the Most Explosive Part of the Trump-Putin Press Conference

This is just crazy. Russia and the White House basically coordinating in editing a transcript of a press conference that was covered live.

https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2018/07/trump-putin-press-conference-transcript/565385/

It was perhaps the most explosive exchange in an incendiary press conference: Russian President Vladimir Putin appearing to frankly admit to a motive for, and maybe even to the act of, meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, despite repeatedly denying Russian interference in American politics during the rest of his appearance with Donald Trump in Finland on Monday.

But the exchange doesn’t appear in full in the White House’s live-stream or transcript of the press conference, and it’s missing entirely from the Kremlin’s transcript of the event. The White House did not immediately provide an explanation for the discrepancy.

Understanding what Putin said depends on what you watch or where you look. If you watch the video of the news conference provided by the Russian government, or by news outlets such as PBS and the Associated Press, you will hear the Reuters reporter Jeff Mason ask a bombshell of a question: “President Putin, did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?

Putin then responds with a bombshell of an answer, according to the English translation of his remarks that was broadcast during the press conference: “Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S.-Russia relationship back to normal.

He’s the new communications guy who used to be a Pox Noise executive. A real manipulator. I bet the fingerprints all over this are his.

Easy. Just change the White House transcript and video, then claim all others are fake news. What's funny is that both Russia and the US edited the transcripts, but differently.

he White House not only still hasn’t properly written out the transcript from the joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Worse, however, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow discovered that the White House even edited out the evidence that the question was even asked about Putin wanting President Donald Trump to win in 2016.

Reuters reporter Jeff Mason was the one who asked Putin if he wanted Trump to win and if he or any of his officials were directed to help.

“Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S./Russia relationship back to normal,” Putin said.

Completely cut from the video from the White House. It was discovered last week that the transcript eliminated the question from the reporter. Maddow noted that the transcript on the White House website still omitted the full exchange. Now, however, the video is cinching it.

“They just dropped that out,” Maddow said. “What the White House has disappeared from the official record, both in print and in the video, president Putin answering in the affirmative when asked if he wanted Trump to win the election.”

Russia doesn’t even show the reporter asked the question at all in their transcript.

I'm not kidding, they want us off our games and feeling defeated then we give up. At least some might. Which is what they're hoping for with these obvious stunts. If they can fatigue enough of us, it wouldn't really take that many, it's a victory for them.

The original will disappear but that version will be used by historians who will not know about the change.

White House. As president, I would sign an executive order mandating that news video of the actual press conference, in total, unedited, be added to the inevitable fawning and distorted display of "their version of the truth" - whenever The Asset attempts his own "presidential" "library." And I'll bet it'll be all gold-plated or, as it's described in the case of inexpensive costume jewelry, "gold-tone."

Also, the Russian version of the transcript completely omits the question altogether. It is hardly as straightforward as suggested.
