There is still hope. My local newspaper mentions Florida's police officer nice act

Translated story:

The man had the opportunity to get a job if he shaved his beard.

The act of kindness of a police officer in Tallahassee, Florida, USA, moved the web. Filmed Sunday by a passer-by, Tony Carlson helped a homeless man shave before he went to a job interview.

At a press conference, the officer told how he approached a man who was having trouble with a lawnmower outside a gas station. “He asked me if I knew how to fix a lawn mower because it was broken. I looked at it and it was missing a screw. Clearly, I didn't have any with me, so I just tightened the other screw to make it work”.

The homeless man, named Phil, then tried to shave his beard alone. But without a mirror, the task proved to be very complicated. Officer Carlson then began shaving his beard to help him.

Phil explained that he was offered the opportunity to work in a McDonald's facility on the condition that he shave his beard. “He was so excited... There was a chance he could get a job if he just cleaned his face”, the officer said.

Contacted by the local newspaper Tallahassee Democrat, the fast-food chain assured that Phil would get a place in one of its restaurants provided he could provide ID.
