***BREAKING NEWS *** Federal Judge Allows Emoluments Case Against Trump To Proceed

A federal judge on Wednesday rejected President Trump’s latest effort to stop a lawsuit that alleges Trump is violating the Constitution by continuing to do business with foreign governments.

The ruling, from U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte in Greenbelt, Md., will allow the plaintiffs in the case — the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia — to proceed with their case, which says Trump has violated the Constitution’s little-used emoluments clause.

The plaintiffs now want to interview Trump Organization employees and search company records to determine which foreign countries have spent money at Trump’s hotel in downtown Washington

this is a separate lawsuit brought by the AGs of Maryland and Washington DC against Trump. There is a SEPARATE lawsuit from Democrats in Congress that is also proceeding.

Democrats had a supermajority in the Senate for only a few months - it took several months for the Norm Coleman/Al Franken race to be resolved and lawsuits settled. For the next few months, Dems had a supermajority until Ted Kennedy passed away and then the Democrat got shocked in the special election against Scott Brown.

If I were a VFW member, I would have walked out once he switched into "rally mode."

The more he talks, the more he becomes like Fidel Castro, who could get on a rant for hours, while his citizens had to stand and listen to it. You definitely did not want to walk out on Fidel Castro.

Little used because for 44 consecutive presidents - even the worst, most venial ones - they all knew and understood the plain constitutional language. Jimmy Carter even sold his family peanut farm to avoid any potential entanglements.

We don't even have Trump's tax returns to know the extent of his financial benefits and obligations.

...chances are that Cohen didn't have access to that kind of info. I doubt if the Trump kiddies have ever seen them, and probably only very few highest level Trump Org. employees are privy. Michael Cohen wouldn't have been considered "highest level" according to what I've read.

The article makes it sound almost like a fishing expedition to uncover hidden business dealings (like with Russia). I have to wonder if this is the end goal or if they really expect prosecution.

Even if one didn't know his history, there were far too many potential conflicts of interest and impossible to analyze w/o his tax returns.

The GOP will get their due paybacks in time for running this corrupt asshole.......
