(56,828 posts)Democrats had a supermajority in the Senate for only a few months - it took several months for the Norm Coleman/Al Franken race to be resolved and lawsuits settled. For the next few months, Dems had a supermajority until Ted Kennedy passed away and then the Democrat got shocked in the special election against Scott Brown.

The more he talks, the more he becomes like Fidel Castro, who could get on a rant for hours, while his citizens had to stand and listen to it. You definitely did not want to walk out on Fidel Castro.

(82,849 posts)Little used because for 44 consecutive presidents - even the worst, most venial ones - they all knew and understood the plain constitutional language. Jimmy Carter even sold his family peanut farm to avoid any potential entanglements.
We don't even have Trump's tax returns to know the extent of his financial benefits and obligations.

(32,599 posts)...chances are that Cohen didn't have access to that kind of info. I doubt if the Trump kiddies have ever seen them, and probably only very few highest level Trump Org. employees are privy. Michael Cohen wouldn't have been considered "highest level" according to what I've read.
