The drama started when Collins shouted out questions to Trump while he was in the Oval Office with the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Wednesday afternoon. Collins, who was acting as the pool reporter for CNN, Fox News, NBC and ABC, asked Trump about the Michael Cohen tapes and his invitation to Vladimir Putin to visit the White House. Of course, Dear Leader was furious because he thinks he is a king or emperor and above the law.

CNN ripped the White House saying, Collins questions were not inappropriate as Shine and Sanders claimed. Just because the White House is uncomfortable with a question regarding the news of the day doesnt mean the question isnt relevant and shouldnt be asked, the network said in a statement. This decision to bar a member of the press is retaliatory in nature and not indicative of an open and free press. We demand better.

(7,512 posts)No one knows for sure where this is going. Our democracy can die, just like every other system has died in man's history. Democracy didn't cloak itself in anything - people make it and people can destroy it.

(297,138 posts)have demanded better of themselves when they were busy normalizing the Fraud to help get the USA in this Fascist state.
Would have been so much easier had the MSM done their due diligence during the election season. They might have saved the country. What a concept. 🙄
Oh thats right....Hillary sent some emails... 🤮

(297,138 posts)M$M ever done their due diligence other than, trying to cover their collective ass, after the carnage when it's too late?
Except back in the days of Walter Cronkite, Edward R Murrow, and Harry Reasoner.
There I dated myself.

(9,865 posts)...not show up at the next press event. Either that. or they need to preface all questions by saying "Kaitlin Collins
asked me to ask you......"
Solidarity to save the 4th estate.
Doubt they'll have the stomach for it though.

I don't think the president is suffering any severe powder burns from a social media blast. I expect the administration will continue it's general assault on the press.
Exaggerated headline bordering on click bait.

(34,372 posts)If no mainstream news covers them, they won't pollute the airwaves. I doubt Independents will check out Breitbart online. Maybe I'm being too optimistic. If they stop covering the bullshit propaganda speeches and lying press conferences, they'd have a lot less chances to poison the country.

(52,196 posts)Seems to me when Donnie picks on individual networks or reporters one by one, they don't defend each other.
This time he picked on a pool reporter, do this one act immediately affected several networks all at once.
*that* finally gets major pushback from the media.

(4,351 posts)They (the mainstream media) created this monster back in 2016. I'm actually laughing at them because they are finally discovering what we have know all along. The tang man is a childish, temper tantrum throwing baby who likes to bully when he doesn't get his way. I welcome the main stream media to our club. You're late to the party, but welcome.

(64,995 posts)I clearly remember 10 minutes of an empty podium while HRC was giving a speech on her economic plan.
They preempted her speech on the ideas to correct "economic anxiety" to show an empty podium.
Worse yet, her speech ended 8.5 minutes into that 10 minutes. Meaning they could have shown the WHOLE speech and missed nothing.
