47% of CA Republican voters won't vote in the senate race in the dem vs dem senate contest in nov.

California has a "two highest vote getters" election system, that locked the GOP out this year.

http://www.latimes.com/politics/essential/la-pol-ca-essential-politics-may-2018-feinstein-maintains-lead-in-senate-race-1532578392-htmlstory.html

The poll found that 47% of Republicans and 24% of independents say they don’t plan to vote in the Senate race at all.

Feinstein leads De León with support from 66% of Democrats and 38% of independents and leads in all demographic categories, including ethnicity, gender, geography and education.

Feinstein received 44% of the vote in the June primary and has a dominant lead in fundraising as she seeks a fifth full term in the U.S. Senate.

The survey of 1,711 California adult residents took place between July 8 and July 17. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

That would help in close congressional races. They know the Governor's race is over, Newsom is way ahead. The Senate race is over, as far as an R is concerned.
So with no chance at the top of the ballot, Rs will stay home. No hot button propositions to stir them up either.

Please Democrats,Independents, and ultra-liberal Republicans: DO NOT RATIONALIZE AWAY THE NEED FOR YOUR VOTE. WE NEED TO DEMONSTRATE LOUDLY, AND CLEARLY THE POWER OF MANY.

a good thing, but I agree that the "sure thing"-ness of the election might keep dems at home. And we do need everyone voting. But its nice we are assured a Dem regardless.

and in California - GOPers need to sit it out and don't even bother with the U.S. House elections either.

and not vote at all - that makes it more likely that the few US House members from CA will lose as well. Would love to see Nunes get shocked as well as Rohrbacher and a few others gone as well.
