african americans are totally done with trump. disapproval across all age groups is 93% to 94%. started about 90% after election and has never dipped.

Hispanics have been consistent also... no wavering lines, even with recent events regarding immigration and children: two thirds or more of each age group and gender hate him, with women hating him about 5% more.

Among whites is when the gender / age split happens. white women younger than 50 approve, older than 50 disapprove. white men younger than 35 disapprove, older than 35 approve.

Being an American today is an odd and uncomfortable blend of numbness, embarrassment and gratitude.

Historically South Asians have bounced back and forth between defined as "white" and "nonwhite" in the US (they were "white" in the civil war, then not in the gilded age, then white again in the early 20th century, etc.). As has been noted above, there is a correlation between older white men and Fox "News". And speaking honestly as a white man in his 40's, without a college education, I can say with near absolute certainty that the outlets by which one's views are informed are far more relevant than race, age, gender or education, or even party affiliation; but until we start seeing comprehensive data on media consumption included in polls like this, it's going to be difficult for many to see and properly appreciate that correlation, and understand the true depth of the problem. I probably don't need to cite anecdotal evidence of this relationship, as I suspect that we all have direct personal experience observing and recognizing this particular correlation.

How do we go about putting pressure on the polling entities to include media consumption in the metrics gathered?

It seems to me that there is a clear benefit, for Republicans and their supporters, to the differences in support for Trump being attributed to things like race/gender/age, as it encourages an us/them mentality and entrenches the notion of persecution on the basis of things over which one has no control, while the deeper truth is that it's actually most reliably predictable by the sources by which one is informed, over which we do have individual control.

Obviously, there is an understandable inclination to respond with some variation of "Not all (wo/white)men", and I myself am certainly thankful that I do not share these particular characteristics with the majority of white men of my age, but the useful information is not that I reject these things, it's WHY I reject them.

Insignificant at 64% approval compared to 63% but as a 59 year old white male it was the first thing I checked.

And I would have to agree with the findings, based on personal experience. Most of my friends from Las Vegas and Los Angeles and Miami are in that white male 50-64 bracket. My estimate before clicking the link was that 2/3 of them approve of Trump.

Sure enough, it spit out 64-33 approval ratio.

That's why some of us are never shocked at the 40% overall approval level. Older white males skew conservative and stubborn. They are going to approve of Trump or whoever is carrying the Republican banner at the moment. Day to day developments don't mean much of anything. 5th Avenue is very real.

On edit: The ratio jumps to 68-30 among white males 50-64 when you include non-college graduate. I hadn't noticed that option previously. That makes even more sense, since it incorporates almost everyone from my friends in Las Vegas. They are the most pro-Trump group I am in contact with frequently.
