What lies will the media feed us to explain why the Blue Wave didn't happen?

Make no mistake, the Ds are poised for a big blue wave this fall. It will happen, and if things were fair and honest, we should take back the Senate, perhaps the House and make impressive gains in statehouses across the nation.

But it’s an open question whether those results will be allowed to stand. The same forces that colluded to put tRump in the WH are still in place, in the government, in foreign governments and - sadly - in the media. The same people who fed us the lies that Hillary was a horrible candidate and that those of us who questioned the legitimacy of the tRump “win” were a bunch of sore losers are preparing their “explanations” to provide excuses as to how this horribly unpopular president (68% disapproval rating!) and his criminal Congress (14% approval rating) somehow held their ground, beating back a blue onslaught that at this point looks like an inexorable and inevitable political tsunami.

They will concoct wild tales to explain how the 23% of the population that identifies as Rs supporting tRump joined with a tiny minority of independent voters to hold off the coordinated, highly energized and well-funded attack of the 44% of Americans who identify as Ds and the overwhelming number of indie voters who are determined to put the brakes on tRumpCo by voting them out in November.

I hope the DNC is prepared to challenge the lies in court. I hope they are building a war chest to fund these efforts, because the media and the Rs will not be playing by the rules. That is something we KNOW based on past experience.

They want the election to go rw and will do anything and everything in their power to ensure this happens. With a supine russian repug SCOTUS, president & both branches of Congress, how can their un-American treachery be stopped?

1. The 'Democrat Socialist' movement split the vote somehow.

2. Deep down we believe the economy is doing 'great' and we don't want to upset the apple cart, so we secretly voted Republican.

3. Several polls showing Americans really do want a wall, less immigration etc. will be paraded and referred to 24/7.

4. Some event that occurs in Sept-Oct. that will create a plausible explanation. A small scandal involving a democratic senator will be extrapolated to the entire mid-terms. "Looks like the Senator Smith Effect (they'll even give it a name) has turned off voters nationwide" says the smiling pundit.

It's not that hard to push a narrative if you have the resources and the time.

1) Total vote tabulations in some precincts can be erased so that incumbents get to stay in office even though the polls showed them losing A Russian hack can do this easily and with e-voting and no paper trail there will be no recount. Do this enough times and the GOP can maintain narrow control of the House.

2) In cases in which the seat is held by a Democrat but the state has a GOP governor and Secretary of State, they can declare that the seat is now "vacant" and the governor can install a selected Republican with plans to hold a special election "once the cause of the hack has been determined." I.e. never.

3) Trump can declare "martial law" in major urban areas that will influence the vote on election day in key districts. Not too many, but one or two, where it counts the most.

4) Right wing groups or Russian posing as right wing groups can make bomb threats at polling places in urban areas on election day. By attacking an urban polling place (anthrax mail, letter bomb) during early voting, Russia can make this type of threat even more effective so look for some kind of terror attack in later October. Again, in an urban area key to the Dem's chances of winning an election. This can easily be combined with 3. Trump can send in troops to "protect" the polls but in fact the troops will make it impossible for anyone to get to the polls.

5) Cyber attacks targeting utilities and mass transit in urban areas will also be part of Russia's plan. Keep people from the polls.

Note that any political strategist can easily figure out which urban areas are the most important to Democratic chances. I suggest getting prepared in advance. These places will have Democratic councils and mayors. Have local law enforcement create plans to protect the polls and enlist the FBI IN ADVANCE. That way, when the "home grown terra group" makes its move, the plan can be implemented and Trump can be told "We have this under control." As for number 5, make sure that urban areas publicize early voting and make it as easy as possible to early vote. And for number 1 and 2 create a back up paper trail for the urban vote.

At the same time, the GOP will want to get the base to turn out. That means getting something in the news to make Republicans scared (since they vote based upon fear) and angry.

1) Russia will blow up something somewhere and blame it on Muslims. Probably in Paris, due to they hate the current French President and France is next in line to be NATO's military leader, and Trump won't want a 9-11 on US soil (makes him look "weak&quot but there will be lots of US tourists there so politically it would be almost as good as an attack on NYC without the negative fallout. An Amsterdam attack is also possible--lots of American tourists in Amsterdam. Note to Western Europe--keep your eyes and ears open, especially in places where US tourists congregate.

2) Hillary Clinton will become "news" again. Jeff Sessions will suddenly hint that he has evidence to convict Hillary of SOMETHING..if the voters just give him two more years. Since there is no statute of limitations on murder, I am guessing some "new witness" in the Vince Foster case that does not exist.

3) A white woman will be raped and murdered. Think Willie Horton except with a Latino sounding name. And yes, Russia will have no qualms about killing an innocent young woman.

Combine these and other unexpectedly extreme and brutal tactics with the old standard voter list purges, malfunctioning voting machines, police roadblocks, mis-informative robo-calls ("If you are a Democrat, you vote on Wednesday.&quot , Russia funded third party left wing splitters that can be used to funnel away 4-5% of the Democratic electronic vote and the GOP might---repeat might have a chance. Unless their Kremlin style tactics are so heavy handed that Americans see what they are up to, in which case voter turn out will increase exponentially--nothing makes Americans more likely to vote than being told "Don't vote!"

Sadly, I can see any of these scenarios playing out. Republicans are DESPERATE to hold on to power. Just taking the House will cut Trump off at the knees and we all know it. Let’s do everything we can to head them off at the pass. We will not be intimated to not vote!!

We have a lot more seats up, particularly in states Trump won. We have potential pick ups like Arizona and Nevada, plus theoretical shots in Texas and Tennessee, but we have hard to hold seats in Missouri, West Virginia, Montana and Florida.
