With less than four months until Americans cast their ballots in the midterm elections, the blue wave appears to be gaining momentum – and it’s largely thanks to women voters.
According to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, women plan to back Democratic candidates this fall by a massive 2-to-1 margin, 57 – 32 percent.
Because of Democratic strength with the female electorate, they now hold a 12-point advantage – 51 to 39 percent overall – heading into the critical midterm elections.
Key findings from the survey:
Women voters: 57 to 32 percent Democratic advantage
Men voters: 46 to 44 percent Republican advantage
White voters: 46 to 45 percent Democratic advantage
African American voters: 78 to 16 percent Democratic advantage
Hispanic voters: 66 to 22 percent Democratic advantage
