The Law doesn't give a crap about what Trump supporters might think.

His supporters may not care if he shoots someone in the middle of 5th Avenue. But the Law cares.

Trump supporters may not care if he assisted Russia in attacking our electoral system and our democracy. They may not care if he fires the FBI Director to get him off the Russia investigation. But the Law cares if there is obstruction of justice.

His supporters may be willing to look the other way, no matter what Trump might do or what laws he might break. They may be willing to look the other way as Donald Trump makes bribes and pay-offs to keep the truth from the American people.

But the Law cares.

3. There's an axiomatic truth to the conflict --

No law means no law. No justice, no law -- no one gets to sleep at night. No one gets to go to work. No one gets to hoard ill-gotten gains. Lawless autocracies are hellholes. Strongman political systems are bloody, violent, horrible places to live.
