It's really screwed up that we had to vote in the primary so early...
I like Ned. I do trust that he wants to do good things for our state and he will be fair and just. usually I don't like businessmen who claim they are qualified to run the government because they have had a successful business but Lamont is a truly good guy. I think he is willing to listen and to learn. I think he is wise. He has renounced his past sins (belonging to a country club that would not let Jews belong for instance).
I voted absentee ballot because I will be on vacay on voting day.
I am almost certain Ned will be our next governor...

Lamont was one of the early tests of the activist movement and dictating primary results. It was very admirable, and so satisfying when the result cooperated.
But I have to say that general election number was one of the worst political betting lines in history. Republicans had put up a token candidate who was sure to earn next to nothing. Those Republicans and the independents were sure to favor the known quantity in Lieberman. Yet Bovada -- or whatever it was called at the time -- put up Lieberman at only a -180 favorite and somehow it was briefly bet down to -160. That number was obscene, given the completely different terrain than the primary. If Nate Silver had been established at the time his analysis would have properly put the true odds at closer to 1/10 or -1000. Silver really screwed up political wagering. Oddsmakers love to steal power ratings from online sources.
During that Connecticut general election I was emphasizing on MyDD that the betting line was a severe bargain, almost unheard of. I did have a couple of people contact me via PM and thank me, after the result.
