I am a child?

My youth in Memphis contains recollections of the Sanitation Strike which drew MLK to town and ultimately led to his assassination. The marchers then, if you've read your history, wore signs that said, "I am a Man." I remembering wondering then about the need for stating something so obvious. But here, SO many years later, this terrible, sad echo.

and one was carrying his sign upside down. It reminded me of the First Grade musical at my school. The kids had to hold up letters that spelled "We love the USA" and no matter how prepared we were or how many times we rehearsed at least one student would hold the letter upside down or backwards. The adults loved it more than anything.

If I were there with these kids I would have had them do it on purpose as an additional heart breaker to show that these are little kids and all little kids, no matter their color or country of origin, need the same care and attention from caring adults.

I followed a link and found an organization claiming to be collecting money to help these kids. But the website looks odd. Is this legit?
If not, which organization actually is helping these kids?
