A meeting at work today.

Significant managers in my company speaking to us. The tariffs for us and other companies are causing very significant supply chain disruptions and very significant price inflation on domestic supplies which are in short supply. Those manufacturers are of course taking advantage of it and price gouging.

Warning to us was that inflation is now a very big worry for corporate.

But, with 85% of the last 25 years being 3.4% or lower, (thanks Silverspoon for the other 15%, moron), an extra 1.5% would be terrible for the economy when wages have grown by 2.9% for the last 20 years
All that said, as stupid as these tariffs are, (and stupid is as stupid does), the impact is likely to have less than a 50% relative impact on inflation
But, as I said above unless we take Congress and pass legislation to dump this idea, it will be bad.
It doesn't however, pay to overstate the issue and give the troglodytes a reason to criticize

Inflation makes life harder for wage slaves and fixed income folk. Wealth and income inequality projected to grow from today's currently very bad levels.

And that will be the Year end Number. Consumers are feeling is in every day goods and now services are starting to do their thing.

Yes,there folks who will not even notice this due to Economic forces that 60% of the Nation are seeing and will experience in the next 3-4 months. Worked in the Wholesale and Retail ends of Consumer Goods and Services. Maybe it is just me,but, see price increase in every day purchases and the big one is Grocery . And the new round of Price increases are due next week as per a conversation this afternoon with a National Chain Store Manager.

And Wages are not increasing and are actually decreasing when it comes to buying power.

Drink from a puddle in the street if you don't like it.

Water for sale is a service. If you don't want that service, don't buy it. If you can't plan in advance to carry sufficient liquid to supply you until you get home again, then you might feel like buying water for sale. Or go thirsty.

Municipal water is paid for by taxes. If you don't like that, go live somewhere like the countryside where you can pay to maintain your own well and treat it and store rain water for dry spells in barrels you hew from trees on your own property.

Water is a commodity that the gods gave all of us. No one said to bottle it up for and distribute it for free. 95% of my life water wasn't sold in bottles.

I never bought water in a bottle until about 4 years ago. Most of the bottled water comes from a private well on a huge public aquifer. Bottled water is import for disasters...and when some governor screws the water in your city.

And while I say that a bit tongue in cheek, I don't mean it personally towards you. Just stating the obvious. Hopefully the GOP Congress will grow a pair and pass a bill that doesn't allow him to reek havoc with people's livelihood while trying to prove his toughness on the world stage. Good Luck and I wish you and your company the best.

I see a significant recession starting early next year as demand collapses.

Companies are going to start laying off very soon in order to cut costs.
