Remember when Elian Gonzalez captivated the nation over being separated from his father?

It is mind boggling to me what has happened to our country and our culture where this activity of separating kids from their parents is a norm. The nation has lost its collective soul.

They claim Clinton was taking Elian from his family. I pointed out this is not his father, that he was being returned to his father and they shut up.

But outside of local Cuban American politics everyone agreed that he should go back to his father. It wasn't even controversial. Mom died, dad wants him, return him to the dad.

About that because it fits their agenda that a child should get to stay in freedom rather than go to what they see as a commie nation.

right wingers at the time from some political chat rooms who all supported him being with his father but then Rush Limbaugh came out against that and they started saying he should stay.
