Of the countless cruelties that Trump has overseen during his reign of horror, the worst is the separation of parents and children at the Mexican border.
This is a stain on America that will never heal.
This is an act of pure cruelty and evil.
This is a crime against humanity.
Over the coming decades, the damage to our country done by Trump and his wrecking crew will eventually be repaired.
But the separation of families? Let's face it. There are some children, (no one knows how many), who may never again find their parents, guardians, or loved ones.
Of all of Trump's horrors, this is the one that can never be cleansed, washed away, or forgiven.
Once a decent administration is in office, no expense should be spared to try to reunite every last family that was victimized and mentally tortured by Trump and his thugs.

We always wondered how the Germans went along with the horrors of the Third Reich.
Now we know.

(54 posts)That, and the rollback and unenforcement of environmental laws, and lack of leadership on climate change. Impact of this is difficult to estimate, but it certainly will result in the early deaths of thousands of people and millions of animals.

(1,105 posts)things along the lines of "do I order the death of 10 if it is the only way a 1000 will survive" and those decisions will haunt a decent person to their deaths.
What this pitiful excuse of an entity has done is JUST PLAIN EVIL with no necessity whatsoever. Naturally he won't lose a moments sleep over his decision.

(5,210 posts)they are not able to re-unite. Since they never intended to, they never had records or policies or procedures in place for accomplishing that.
What bothers me most about this-- beyond the horrifying fact of it, of course -- is that they talk about it as if they're discussing missing MREs or something. Of course, we KNOW that these people, including the children, aren't fully human to them, else they couldn't have done this to them to start with. But it's startling and very, very disconcerting to me to see how that fact works out in their discussions.

(90,559 posts)The kids and babies are being thrown into the hopper of at least three Federal agencies with no paperwork and shuffled along with no paperwork. The few who have been restored to their parents have, in addition to severe emotional trauma, everything from lice to scabies to a broken bone. Now reports of child abuse, molestation, and rape are coming in.
