The 'New Anti-Semitism' in France with the rise in Muslim population

https://www.wral.com/-they-spit-when-i-walked-in-the-street-the-new-anti-semitism-in-france/17729267/

PARIS — The solemn boulevards and quiet side streets of the 17th Arrondissement in Paris suggest Jewish life in France is vibrant: There is a new profusion of kosher groceries and restaurants, and about 15 synagogues, up from only a handful two decades ago.

But for residents like Joanna Galilli, this area in northwestern Paris represents a tactical retreat. It has become a haven for many Jews who say they have faced harassment in areas with growing Muslim populations. Galilli, 28, moved to the neighborhood this year from a Parisian suburb where “anti-Semitism is pretty high,” she said, “and you feel it enormously.”

“They spit when I walked in the street,” she said, describing reactions when she wore a Star of David.

>>For those who continue to think uncontrolled migration into Europe from the Middle East & N Africa pose no problems.
More ignorant fear of the Jews. Who are just going about their daily business like everyone else in France.

Sending weapons and killers and using "shock and awe" in the mid east & N Africa has consequences ck4829 Jul 2018 #1
Maybe they should be more tolerant of those who live where they "flee" to. 7962 Jul 2018 #2

Example: This "uncontrolled migration".

Also, "Arab" doesn't necessarily mean "Muslim", I know it's been pointed out that Arab Americans are more often than not Christian, now I know the last spate of research for Europe was that immigrants were Muslim but with sizeable clusters of Christians, I wonder what recent research has shown.

Either way, this is a touchy subject with systemic causes. The Jewish community, the Middle East community, Arabs, North Africans, Muslims, etc.... they aren't "them". Let's work past the divisiveness.

A large number of these people are come from places that are NOT at war.
I haven't seen any stories about any migrating Christians being charged with anti Semitic acts.

Also, hardly surprising is the lack of interest and the constant need to change the subject away from anti-Semitism and Jews, even to the point of blaming Jews for the rise in anti-Semitism. It is as it always has been. It is "Animal Farm", where all are equal, but some more equal than others, a theme we see here too.

This fear & ignorance of the Jews has baffled me since I was a child.
And as you mention, post about it here & you get minimal concern or deflection from many. As with a similar incident with Christians. Substitute any other religion or race & all hell breaks loose.
