Meghan McCain says dad John McCain is 'hanging in'

PHOENIX – U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who is battling a typically deadly form of brain cancer, is "hanging in," his daughter said Thursday, and she will return to see him and her mom, Cindy McCain, next month.

McCain, a six-term Republican senator and decorated former prisoner of war, was diagnosed with glioblastoma last year. "My father is hanging in and he's doing well up in Sedona," she said.
The 81-year-old senator has remained at the family’s retreat in Cornville, near Sedona, since last December, where he continues to receive briefings and weigh in on policy and legislation.

Earlier this month, the senator's co-author and former chief of staff offered positive news on a Sunday morning news show, saying the senator was back at his physical therapy regimen.

"My husband and I are going on our honeymoon," Meghan McCain, 33, said on the broadcast. "We got married in November and we're not going on our honeymoon ... but it's OK.
And then I'm going home to Arizona for the entire rest of my hiatus (from The View) ..."

Sadly, on Fri she announced she had resigned for another year. I think I’m done. Not only does she screech, yell, and pound her hands on the table in a meltdown but she’s rude and obnoxious and has no sense of humor. This past week she called Hillary “crooked Hillary” because “You know how much I hate Hillary Clinton.” She called a Dick Durban a liar and usually tries to play gotcha with any liberal. All have been courteous to her even tho she played those games. She reads from her notes all the time and repeats the same Federalist talking points. I can’t believe they resigned her.

Rumors are that Abby Huntsman will take the new open seat. Will MM be able to handle another conservative at the table? Her main line is “I’m the only person from the right here.” I don’t think she likes to share.

For a brief happy second there I thought she had, as in stepped down. So she actually RE-SIGNED then?? LOL!! (but really, OH SHIT!). Would actually prefer to see Liz H. in that chair instead.

6. I stopped watching with Liz H.

I love Joy and Whoopi but I don’t think I can handle another year or even a week from of MM. She’s become emboldened in the past 2 weeks and is claiming the floor more often and longer. I have no interest in watching the MM show. Looks like I’ve regained an hour in my day.

I know I’m not alone because their twitter feed and FB page is full of negative comments and most do not seem like bots. I’ve emailed to complain but it’s useless.

10. Lately she's been squirming alot

She still shouts people down, but for the last couple of days she seems to have had less energy to disrupt discussions.

It is going to be interesting to see who they hire to replace Sarah. No doubt Meghan would like someone who would agree with her but even the conservatives who fill in don't agree with her!

8. I'm so bummed that Sara Haines is leaving....

She's one of my favorites. I also was disappointed to hear that Meghan has signed on for another year. Having said that, no doubt they intentionally want someone who is abrasive so they can have their discourse. And Meghan plays right into it. I remember when Nicole Wallace was the "token" Republican (my opinion) and I think she left (or maybe she wasn't renewed) because she wasn't divisive enough. I'll be disappointed if Abbey Huntsman gets the job. She has a weekend show on Faux News. I like Ana Navarro and hope she gets the position.

I agree, they want conflict and drama and MM brings both. Ana Navarro can dress down Meghan. Sometimes she leaves her sputtering so I would take Ana. MM says she’s good friends with Abby but if they are on the same panel each day I think Meghan will end up with a back seat. Abby is personable, attractive, has a universally respected father, and doesn’t lash out the way MM does.

a bit longer to meet a birthday, or see IQ45 impeached or resign or indicted. A few months after that, holidays get closer.

Kills usually within 2 years of diagnosis. Bob Marley, Teddy Kennedy, Gord Downie (Tragically Hip), Beau Biden, and my son, Kevin (26 years old) ad the same brain tumour John McCain has.

At least McCain is still around at 81.

It is not an easy illness.

After decades of searching for the perfect tan. Fortunately she is diligent about being checked and having every little trace of melanoma removed.
