Issa: 'Nobody's going to be surprised' if Trump approved Russia meeting

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Saturday downplayed renewed scrutiny over whether President Trump knew in advance about his son's meeting with a Russian lawyer offering dirt on Hillary Clinton before the 2016 election, saying "nobody’s going to be surprised."

Issa was pressed by Fox News' Neil Cavuto during an interview on whether Trump could face legal consequences if proof emerges that he knew about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting that was billed to Donald Trump Jr. as "part of Russia and its support" for Trump.

“If he’s proven to have not told the whole truth about the fact that campaigns look for dirt, and if someone offers it, you listen to them, nobody’s going to be surprised,” Issa told Cavuto. “There are some things in politics that you just take for granted” ...

It never happened! Besides, Trump didn't know anything about it! And anyway, everybody does it so it's really not all that surprising!

They know that Cohen is more credible than Trump so they're getting in front of it.

Just like every other thing that has been excused, this will be excused too.

Treason with a political party in conclusion with their obstruction. When democrats take power, the hearings and removal from congress of all republicans that have partook with obstruction....if they are still around. Trump and pence removed from office if they aren't already gone.

"Is collusion really so bad, after all?"

These people are dishonest as the day is long.

13. If it's not surprising, then why has Trump repeated the words "No Collusion"
Sat Jul 28, 2018, 03:36 PM
Jul 2018

Hundreds and hundreds of times, and his Armegeddon Army has contented itself with that knowledge?

What Issa is suggesting is that Trump did not collude but it wouldn't be surprising if he did.

I guess when you have no morals, no backbone, no principles, moral subjectivity is the result. But Issa goes one step further: he suggests there is a factual subjectivity at work here. What's fact today is fabrication tomorrow. Today Michael Cohen shoots straight; tomorrow he's a lying SOB. Self-contradiction is acceptable, but only within their ecosystem. I guess Rush and Fox have inculcated this among their audiences, and many MAGAts probably don't even realize they're talking out of both sides of their mouths. Or maybe they do but they justify it because of their hatred for what they've been told liberals are.

I guess if you can effectively downplay treason to your partisans, they no longer are acting as citizens and you're no longer acting as a politician. You become a cult leader passing out the kool-aid to a thirsty, angry, brainwashed throng.

The Republicans have simply situated the goalposts two miles outside the stadium. Republican voters insist this is perfectly normal. The media theorize that of the two positions for the goalposts, it's probably somewhere in between.

It should be obvious to everyone by now this POtuS is a pathological liar and a man of extremely low moral character with a long record of shady deals. Why would anyone doubt he'd jump at the chance to collude with the Russians who assaulted our democracy to get him elected?

His constant shouts of NO COLLUSION! have zero credibility.
