...the most important issue for all of America is to preserve our right to vote. I agree with that.
We are in a battle for our democracy and if we lose our right to vote, we will have lost our democracy. We must protect the right to vote, and to have the votes counted honestly, in order to maintain our democracy, at all costs.
I was impressed with Rep. Swalwell's comments on CNN News show with Ana ?? He understands the seriousness of protecting our country from foreign attacks. He understands the value of our Constitution.
Sometimes I think the Democratic Party might be better off to run some lesser-known like Eric Swalwell than a better-known candidate like a Joe Biden or a Bernie Sanders. Just my opinion.

(31,261 posts)Unless our candidate sells out and literally lives on the campaign trail, there is no guarantee that Trump won't spend more time there. Trump love and need the adulation of a crowd, that and what would be at stake for him would likely lead him to fall dead rather than not campaign, our nominee must match that and go everywhere, not just big cities.

(842 posts)He is clear-thinking and focused....not afraid to speak up. Definitely has a future in the Democratic Party!
Also like Adam Schiff and Ted Lieu (my rep., although ineligible to run for Pres.) for the same reasons.
Eric Swalwell said, " Trump lies. And lying is a sign of WEAKNESS!"

(10,885 posts)While not impossible, it's highly unlikely they'd be run together. The "other 49" would be complaining that the power was too influenced by California, and that the 49's needs are unrepresented.
Schiff 2020, with a more seasoned Swalwell as P or VP nominee in 2028? That would work.

(31,261 posts)My guess is he would defer to Harris or Schiff. At 37, he has time to spare.

He's polar opposite of Trump. Quiet-spoken, solid, progressive.
