media is baffled about what poll he is referring to. no polls during Lincolns time. Trump is hallucinating
(on edit, he's talking about approval among republicans.. but even that's a lie. GW had higher approval among GOP after 9/11)

(115,661 posts)And when Republicans were polled about Reagan there were a lot more Republicans - during the '80s about 36% of voters identified as GOP; now it's only about 25%, so the approval of a majority of GOPers doesn't mean the same actual number of people. In fact, Reagan's overall approval rating never went below about 44%, where Trump's is now. Reagan's numbers improved after that. Trump's won't.

(115,661 posts)Even 80% of 35% is a lot more than 88% of 23%. But I don't think Spanky does math.

(31,970 posts)Not by modern polling but there are other ways it was measured. He only won the election with 39.8% of the vote -- the lowest of any presidential winner in our history.

So it is a pretty low bar to get over.

(10,749 posts)Were beyond lies. Its all pure fabrication. Take s look at the tweet about the meeting with the NYT. It didnt simply misrepresent what was discussed. It was made up. And he went public with an off the record meeting. And, yet, the good little fascists eat this shit up and ask for more.
