I think we might be at a (minor) tipping point with the MSM.
I never believed this nonsense that the mainstream media has been peddling about how Trump, the master of publicity, has always been able to distract from his mistakes by throwing out some outrageous red herring that sends the press running off in another direction. Give me a break. The man has no capacity for THOUGHT, let alone for STRATEGIC thought. But it IS true that his publicity managers at Faux News have always tried to do that FOR him, and usually succeeded.
But not any more. A week ago, Trump made a pass to Faux News with another tweet about NFL football players kneeling, and Fox ran with it, trying to distract from his Helsinki meeting. But the rest of the press only followed the red herring for half a day.
Now today, Rudy Giulianni blows himself up like a Hamas suicide bomber, dressed as a circus clown, and the press is running after him regarding a SECOND Trump Tower meeting, and the possibility that Trump was at the first one via speaker phone ('he wasn't PHYSICALLY present at the meeting..." ) And Fox News is DESPERATELY trying to distract. They've been running all day with 'TRUMP SAID HE'D MEET WITH IRANIAN PRESIDENT HASSAN ROUHANI! Isn't that OUTRAGEOUS? But maybe GENIUS at the same time???..." And the rest of the press hasn't even MENTIONED it!
I guess that story about crying wolf too often REALLY IS true! The Fux Noise DISTRACTION BUTTON is not working anymore! Nobody in the REAL PRESS is even PAYING ATTENTION to what Trump says anymore. Just what's happening...
