Did the Russians advance the Hillary email scare?

Then they convinced the Trump campaign they could deliver the dirt?
Then Trump exchanged who knows what for a pile of nothing?
Trump was the the one conned into thinking he could get his hands on lots of dirt that turned put to be nothing?
