(9,350 posts)I think he should be willing to sit down and talk to the President. He would have the ability to urge the President to do things that could help people from his community. Lebron James and Democrats should remember the words of John F. Kennedy, "Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate". We should also consider the Hamilton song Room Where It Happens. Not all of us can be in the room where it happens. Those of us who can should take advantage of that opportunity.

(157 posts)Don't forget that LeBron and many others like myself (black men) haven't forgotten the disgraceful Birther movement led by Big Con Don. He tried to insist that President Obama wasn't a legitimate President. So LeBron is right to refuse to recognize this fraud as President. Sitting down with him does LeBron no favors and just gives Big Con legitimacy. He would be just yet another person conned into becoming a photo op. Any black man that would lower himself to acknowledge this fraud after all he has done to attack us and spit in our faces would lose a ton of respect and credibility from so many people in the black community who find him repulsive.

(81,110 posts)Your point is VERY well-taken. LeBron would be used by trump for a cheap promotional photo op, and he would lend a little bit of his own luster to trump, giving him a default vote of legitimacy. LeBron is correct. Hell, I wouldn't want to sit across from him either. I've read plenty about what shit he tries to pull underneath dinner tables when there's a female within easy reach and he knows nobody can see.
LeBron shouldn't lower himself by appearing in the company of such a low-life. The Asset does NOT deserve any validation from you, LeBron! You're totally right not to want to give it to him.

(15,297 posts)After what we've witnessed with our own fucking eyes over the past 18 months...you'd sit down with this prick???
Holy Fuck that's downright delusional.
It appears that some on DU don't understand that the Retrumplicans declared war against liberals and progressives and have been fighting it "un-fucking-opposed" in most cases for the past 5 fucking decades.
Some people demonstrate that they don't deserve the time of day. Donnie Shorts Fingers is one of many such people on the Retrumplican side.
There is only one option...crush the ever-loving hell out of them at the ballot box, and kick their asses so thoroughly, that their entire fucked-up racist ideology NEVER DARE REAR IT'S UGLY FUCKING HEAD IN OUR COUNTRY
Sit down with him??? I'd rather attend a dinner party at Jeffrey Dahmer's place, or go Christmas fishing with Scott Peterson.
