Donald Trump has been increasingly frustrated by the lack of fun he has as president and with the people who work for him that are unable to sell his policies.
Vanity Fairs Gabriel Sherman revealed that not only was Trump warned privately that his family separation policy would be political suicide, but that the failure of his hardline political stance turned the presidents mood foul.
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) both privately told the president that he would go down big on the policy (his family separation policy), a Republican briefed on the conversations told Sherman. As backlash against the family separations reached a fever pitch, Trump blinked and signed an executive order reversing it but not without grumbling about it to those around him.
He was very unhappy, a Republican who spoke with Trump said. He was perturbed the immigration issue had gotten out of hand. Hes feeling that being president isnt as fun as it should be. He thinks hes not getting the credit he deserves about the economy and North Korea. He said, These people around me dont know how to sell.
His frustration with the fallout from the policy and the North Korea summit are why hes going bananas on Twitter, the Republican told Vanity Fair.

(7,802 posts)Did he enact the vicious and disastrous family separation for kicks? Why does he think he deserves credit for North Korea and the economy? He didn't do a damned thing on either one. Who the hell thinks that sales is the top priority of working in government?
That guy is a turd. An orange turd.

(17,984 posts)1. Where Did He Get the Idea That Being President Was Fun? Putin sold him on the idea, said he could make a bundle.
2. Did he enact the vicious and disastrous family separation for kicks? No. He enacted it because he thought everyone would love him being tough on immigrants. It backfired horribly because he didn't realize only maybe 15% of the country is as heartless as he is.
3. Why does he think he deserves credit for North Korea and the economy? He literally has a diseased mind. He lives only in the moment and pays zero attention to consequences. When this shit is brought up two weeks later, all he can remember is how great a negotiator he was at the time. It's useless trying to convince him otherwise because he truly believes he can make no mistakes.
4. Who the hell thinks that sales is the top priority of working in government? Simple answer: the deplorables. They were conned into believing that since he knows business he would make a good president. The feedback from his base reinforced the Rump's notion that he actually would make a good president. It's why he keeps doing the same shit over and over while expecting a different result.

(56,827 posts)Trump promotes himself as knowing business, but the reality is that he knows how to get money and cheat investors and the little guy out of the money. He doesn't really know business.
One of those farmers in the midwest that was hammered by the Trump tariffs said that while he was hurt, he was still supporting Trump because he's a great businessman and must know what he's doing...

(17,984 posts)He's a con man who sells himself as the greatest businessman ever. What I was trying to say in my response was that he sold that image to the nation and several million people bought it. It was all based on his own bullshit "resume" that included his completely fabricated net worth. But you see, I think that he survives on the positive response he receives. So he initiates the bullshit. People buy it and praise him. This bolsters his self image and encourages him to sell more bullshit. The cycle continues so long as there are very dumb people who will believe he is something wonderful.

Yes, Donny, the whole world IS laughing at us, and you're the reason why. They're not laughing because of our immigration policies. They're laughing because you're an asshole and an embarrassment on the world stage.
Actually, Donny, perhaps it's more correct to say that the whole world is laughing at YOU. Finally something you can take credit for.

His life of crime is about to catch up with him and his fall will be as spectular as his rise to the White House. It's only a matter of time and nothing he or his accomplices can do to save him.
